HI, I'M EMILY

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, I have been exploring movement ever since I first learned to walk. I trained rigorously to be a professional ballerina, dancing with both The San Francisco Ballet, and The Joffrey Ballet before the age of 18. I gave up my career in dance due to exhaustion and chronic injury. 

Yoga came into my life at a time when I needed it the most. It helped me to heal not only the physical trauma from years of dance, but also through the magic of my practice, I began to heal emotional wounds and develop a much deeper and healthier relationship with myself. I received my RYT 200 from Yoga Dicha in Tulum Mexico under the Direction of Richelle Morgan and the Aligned Flow Method, and my 500HR Pilates certification from Samarasa Echo Park under the direction of Justine Malick. 

After several years spent developing my own unique teaching style, the idea for Body Language emerged. The practice is influenced heavily by my years of training as a dancer, and is based around the idea that our bodies each have an individual story to tell, and so much to teach us about ourselves if we are willing to listen. 

Body Language as a brand now features a growing online class library, with various different teachings, tutorials, and full length classes - with new videos added weekly! Our membership option allows access to a growing online community, including unlimited access to the full library of classes and to live-streamed classes, events, and workshops.

  • What is BODY LANGUAGE? Body Language is a paid subscription service to our online movement class community. Every month you get access to classes, workshops, tutorials, and more - that keep staying fit and present in your practice super easy and fun! Enjoy the support of a community, and the ability to interact with a teacher directly, to support you as you practice independently from home. 
  • Is BODY LANGUAGE right for me? If you are looking to build a strong practice, that pushes the boundaries of traditional yoga and Pilates, then we are definitely for you. If you need help staying motivated in your home practice then you will enjoy the flexibility and options available to you through our membership service. 
  • What if I want to cancel my membership? You can cancel at any time by logging into your account settings. Your subscription will end at the end of the month you've paid for, and you will not be charged again after that. 
  • How long is my trial period? You have two weeks to try the service for FREE, and then you will be charged for your first month.
  • How much time does it require each month? Access to our online class library is available to you 24/7 and you are encouraged to work at your own pace. The more you put into your practice, the more you will get out of it - but there is no time requirement to be a member. 
  • How do I access my account? You access your account by logging in at Bodylanguagestudents.com on any of your devices. 
  • ​Is BODY LANGUAGE right for me if I have never practiced Yoga or Pilates before? With a growing library of classes to choose from, there are practices available for all levels, and levels are clearly indicated on each video. With an open mind and a willingness to try, BODY LANGUAGE can be a fun and challenging asset to any beginner - and don't forget, you have direct forum to communicate with Emily and ask for any support, questions, or feedback!
